We did it—we all made it through our first week of school together. This is going to be a great year, I can tell.
This week we talked all about me! And you. And others. We read books about how we look, what makes us happy and sad (and even ANGRY!), and how we can make good choices. We talked about our favorite things—and we love that some of us have the same favorite colors and foods and games and movies!
We read lots of great books like “The Feel Good Book” and “I’m Gonna Like Me” and “Here’s to You” and “I Like Myself” and talked about our bodies. We can run really fast!
We made lots of tasty snacks like “my body” built out of meat and cheese and pretzels (apparently lots of us hold swords in self-portraits),
We played with lots of toys and probably love puzzles and Legos the best. We also got to make our handprints out of soapy paint, we glued pictures of our favorite foods, we used the dot paints, and we made “mirrors” of ourselves to remind us that we are all special.
We love shooting the rocket balloons on the playground and we’re hoping for some not-so-blazing-hot days in the next few weeks!
