This was a great week (well, really...what week ISN'T great??!)
We talked all about our bodies and practiced using our muscles and pretended what it would be like if we didn't have any bones. We decided we're glad we have bones.
We also took a field trip this week to the dentist office! Rikki was our awesome tour guide and we've got some cool pictures of what we did.
Noah K is by far the most patient puzzler in all of Sixth Street Preschool. I may have said this before. The underwater puzzle that he's putting together here is REALLY tough--all the pieces are generally the same shape and mostly the same color. Not a lot of external clues about where pieces go. I let him work on it as long as he wanted.

And after a little while, he got it! No one helped him even once. I love his concentration and skill.
In the meantime, we all made handprints out of dough.

They were tasty with cinnamon & sugar.

Getting ready for our field trip day. Everyone wears badges so we're easy to identify and keep track of. Also, the badges look AWESOME!

In the waiting room of Dr. Adams' dentist office.

With Ms. Nikki's class, listening carefully.

Desi got to dress up like a dental hygenist. Gloves, check. Mask, check. Goggles, check. Complete awesomeness, check.
Watching our favorite movie about those darned sugar bugs (which is actually a commercial for a sealant--if any of your kids come home talking about how they need their teeth sealed, the advertisement did its job!)
Taking a turn to ride in the dentist chair and getting our teeth counted. Noah K bravely went first.

Eastyn & Ezra rode the chair together.
Getting teeth counted.
Karsyn & Sarah's turn.
Jacob & Noah are happy to be here!
Desi & a friend from Ms. Nikki's class.
Showing off our awesome teeth.
When we had free play time on Thursday, Desi asked if she could use the markers. I got out stickers, too & let her go to town. She announced that she was making something beautiful for her mother.
Pretty soon Eastyn was drawn in. He really wanted to make a picture for everyone in his family.
Even Ezra took a break from playing pirates to join us in the crafting excitement. Every so often, one of the kids would ask me to spell a word. Instead of writing it for them, I wrote it on the chalkboard so they could write it themselves.
These are the words they asked about. Awesome!
Noah K looking at the chalkboard. I think he was the one copying "love" and "brother".
Making bodies out of magazine parts. We love ripping & cutting pages out of magazines!
Jacob found a page that had a few vampires on it. He carefully cut out these vampire teeth, put them in his mouth,& asked me to take his picture. Awesomeness!
And that's the perfect place to end the week. We had a great time!
