Numbers Week

Numbers Week was so fun! There are so many songs about numbers and counting that we sang about a zillion songs (approximately). Our favorite has to be the counting fish song involving a bitten pinky finger (on the right, to be exact).

We did a whole lot of jumping and counting on our Jumping Numbers. Check out all these great action shots of jumping preschoolers.

We have counted most everything in our preschool since this week began! We cut and counted how many fish were in our fish bowl and we made a Numbers Book with stickers (it was fun to choose what we wanted on each page).

Tuesday’s snack was More or Less and we counted what we ate and decided if we have more marshmallows or popcorn and did we have less fruit loops or goldfish. We are VERY good counters.

We also ate TEN of lots of little things on Wednesday and THREE of bigger things on Thursday. We also counted how many fruit snacks we had in our bags and graphed how many. We’re going to be doing lots of graphing this year.

We read “Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to Do” and then played Five Monkeys on the bed. We especially enjoyed the song about monkeys who teased an alligator…and that was the end of those monkeys! We also read “Fish Eyes” and “Hiccupotamus” and counted how many things the Old Lady swallowed. We sang “Five Little Ducks” over and over and over and over.

And we ended the week with a fun birthday celebration for Rafe who will be four on Sunday—Happy Birthday, Rafe! It was a great week!
