We started off the week making snowmen ornaments with our handprints. Getting their hands painted is always a great way to start a day!

Once Morgan's hand is painted, I put a blue ornament on his palm, he closes his fingers, then opens them. The fingers make hilarious snowmen (why oh WHY didn't I get a close-up of a finished snowman??)
Karsyn ready for a turn.
We had lots of great ideas of how to get our gingerbread men back. Caiden built a trap out of a ribbon, some legos, a tote, and m&ms.
Springing the trap.
Hiding under the table so we won't scare the gingerbread men when they come back.
Shhhh.
We switched out the substandard ribbon for a rubber hose that Keen brought.
Waiting....
Waiting...
STILL waiting.
Then we read a book called "The Gingerbread Baby" where the boy builds a gingerbread house while everyone else is chasing that gingerbread baby and the gingerbread baby decides to come home to it. So we thought maybe that would work for us.
Everyone got to help decorate the house. And eat some of the candies...mmmm!

We left the roof off one side because our house didn't have a door.
Jourdan helped us put the gingerbread house outside to see if our gingerbread men would come back.

We waited for a little bit and decided we might be scaring them. So we went back inside.
Pretty soon we heard a knock at the door...and guess what was there?!!

It worked, our gingerbread house worked! It was so fun.

Mmmm, soft and chewy!
Morgan said he was going to keep his gingerbread man forever "as a friend". That lasted about 10 minutes and he gobbled it right up.

We were playing puzzles when the knock came on the door.

Showing Jourdan all the places our gingerbread men went.

It was a super day!
We were supposed to have our preschool Christmas party the next day (Thursday) but it was a Snow Day and we missed out. We had a great year and can't wait to start again after New Year!
The secret present we made for our moms and dads was a set of fridge magnets that make the nativity. We dressed as the parts and made magnets out of them. Here are some of the original poses:
Karsyn the baby Jesus (2nd year in a row she's performed this valuable service--thanks, Karsyn!)

Keen a shepherd.
Noah a shepherd.
Brooke the angel.
Bailey as Mary.
Eastyn the wise man #1
Rafe the wise man #2
Caiden the wise man #3
Morgan as Joseph.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
